1. American Horror Story (Netflix)

Each season is based in different time periods with different characters and based on different sets e.g. hotel, asylum, haunted house, freak show. The first season is about a family in a haunted house and weird events occurring in the building, season 2 is set in an asylum where demons and Christ are strongly believed. Season 3 is set in a coven where a group of teenagers try and control their supernatural powers, season 4 is about a freak show with ever character with a different disfigurations. Season 5 is set in a hotel with vampires as owners. In my opinion I think American Horror Story is great as it's different and always changes so the audience is never watching the same thing - it's thrilling and gripping with amazing characters that frighten the viewers. It first broadcasted in 2011 with the new season coming out on the 16th September 2016.

2. The 100 (Amazon Prime)

The series is set 97 years after a devastating nuclear war wiped out almost all life on Earth. Humans live in stations in space called the 'Ark' but then their life support starts to run out and oxygen levels start decreasing. One hundred juvenile prisoners are sent to the surface in a last ditch attempt to determine if Earth is habitable again. They soon discover that not all humanity was wiped out. There are people on Earth who survived the war. They must work together if they have any chance of surviving.

3. Fear The Walking Dead

A companion series to The Walking Dead, this is the prequel where it shows the progression of the sickness that spreads across America turning people into Zombies. The show follows a family and how they react to the sickness, they soon run away from their home town and try to find other survivors. It first was broadcasted on April 10, 2015.

4. Orphan Black (Netflix)

After getting into money problems with her abusive boyfriend, Sarah Manning goes to the train station to witness someone commit suicide not only is this heart breaking to watch but also the woman looks exactly identical to Sarah. After stealing the woman's identity she acts out her day to day life, this results in her finding more identical woman and that their all clones with the same genetic identity. Due to clones being an act against nature the girls start to get hunted down and so they all work together to overcome these people. This first broadcasted in the UK on 20th September, 2013.


5. Stranger Things (Netflix)

A young boy disappears but the whole town have no idea where he's gone. A young girl appears where the boy vanished, the boys friends go out to find him and find her instead after witnessing she has supernatural powers they decide to keep her safe. People start turning up in their town trying to find this girl but the boys are aware she knows where their lost friend is - together they work to try and find their friend and keep her safe. This first broadcasted on 31st August, 2016.

6. Pretty Little Liars (Netflix)

A young girl dies. Her group of friends start receiving threatening texts from someone who names themselves 'A'. Each girl has a secret that they don't want anyone to know - together they try and uncover who this person is and try to maintain their friendships. This show was first broadcasted on 8th June, 2010.


7. Teen Wolf (Netflix)

 

A teenage boy, Scott McCall, gets bitten by a werewolf after going out into the woods in the middle of the night to see a dead girls body. Weird changes start happening to him after that such as good hearing, good eyesight, stronger and turns into a werewolf on a full moon. He starts to train on how to fight and have control over his urges. More werewolves turn up in his town to try and cause harm to humans, Scott and his friends try to stop them and protect everyone in their town. This show first broadcasted in the UK on 27th October, 2015.


8. Awkward (MTV)

This is about a teenage girl and her life in high school. From pregnancy to drugs this show has it all. A teenage girl makes a personal blog on the internet sharing her views and opinions throughout the years at high school as she struggles with her identity especially after she has an unfortunate accident and everyone thinks it was a suicide attempt. This broadcasted in 2010 on MTV.

9. IZombie (Netflix)

A woman, Liv Moore, is a medical student who goes out to a boat party after work this is where everyone took a type of drug and turned into zombies. She gets bit and then wakes up as a zombie. To stop herself from hurting anyone she splits up with her fiancé and gets a job at the morgue where she can eat as many dead human brains as possible. When eating a brain afterwards she gains their last memories, this helps her uncover their murderers and helps her friend detective solve his case. This show broadcasted on Netflix in 2015.
